How we work

It starts with a conversation, and stays one.

We are not a trading app with a help desk. We are a handful of people who get to know each client, introduce them to one partner broker if it makes sense, and then stay in touch. Here is what that looks like, step by step.

The three stages

  1. The first call

About xx minutes, by phone or video

A conversation, not a sales pitch. We want to know why you are thinking about trading, what you already know, and what you could afford to lose.

    • You talk to one of the partners, not a call centre.
    • We explain how leveraged trading works, including how quickly losses can build.
    • If it is not right for you, we say so on the call.
    • Nothing is opened and nothing is signed.
  2. Onboarding

Usually x–x weeks, at your pace

If you decide to go ahead, the same person walks you through opening an account with our partner broker and setting up the platform.

    • Help with the broker's application and verification documents.
    • A screen-share walk-through of the platform before your first order.
    • Agreeing together the most you are prepared to lose in a month.
    • A written summary of everything we discussed.
  3. Ongoing check-ins

Every x weeks, or whenever you need us

We stay in touch. A short scheduled check-in, and a direct line to the person who knows your account.

    • A regular call to talk through how things are going.
    • A plain-English look at costs, margin and how leverage is behaving.
    • Reminders before events that tend to move markets sharply.
    • Help if you decide to trade less, or stop altogether.
Between check-ins

You don't have to wait for a scheduled call.

A question about margin on a Tuesday afternoon deserves an answer on Tuesday afternoon. These are the ways clients reach us.

House rules

What you can hold us to.

These are the rules we work by. If we ever fall short of one, tell us; it is how we get better.

  1. We tell you the risks first.Leverage, margin calls and how fast losses can build, before anything else.
  2. We never decide for you.We explain and we listen. We do not tell you what to trade, when, or how much.
  3. We never touch your money.Your account is held by Pellmoor Markets, in your name. We have no access to it.
  4. We are open about how we are paid. The broker may pay us a commission when you trade. It is explained on the first call and in writing.
  5. We help you stop, too.If trading is no longer right for you, we help you close the account cleanly, without a sales conversation.
